The Summer Bus Tour at Home in Exile was a deeply moving and unforgettable experience. It took place from 16 to 18 July and brought together women from different communities for a weekend of connection, creativity, exchange, and solidarity.

The tour began at Oranienplatz, where the Soli-bus collected women from three different camps and brought them to the house project at MGP. Later, women from NINA Hamburg, who had travelled by train from Hamburg, joined us. The evening was spent getting to know one another, sharing experiences, cooking together, and enjoying a meal as a community.
The following day was filled with activities. Some of our supporters and donors also joined us, making the gathering even more special. We began by introducing the work of both groups and learning more about the different projects and activities each group is involved in.

This was followed by a garden tour, where we introduced our visitors to the plants growing in our small garden and showed them around the property.

For those visiting us for the first time, it was an opportunity to discover the space and learn more about the place we call home.
Then came the creative part of the tour. With the guidance and support of experts, including Frauen Macht Druck, Bettina, and women from NINA Hamburg, participants had the opportunity to explore different creative techniques. Women shared their skills and creativity through bead making, litho printing, and screen printing.

The workshops were a joyful space for learning, experimenting, and expressing ourselves. Everyone was able to take home something they had made themselves. Even the children who had accompanied their parents joined the creative workshops and enthusiastically took part.
More than just a bus tour, the Summer Bus Tour was a space for women to meet, share, create, and build connections across different communities. It reminded us of the strength that comes from coming together, supporting one another, and creating spaces where everyone can participate and feel at home.
