Sister Rita"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The remains of our sister Rita Awour Ojunge\nwas finally given to the family for burial. She was laid to rest on the 14.\nDezember 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rita repeatedly reported sexual harassment\nin the Hohenleipisch refugee camp, she was living in. But no step were taking.\nOn the 7. April 2019 she was reported missing. It took almost three months for\nher remains to be found 200 metres away from the camp in the forest. Rita was\n32 years old. She left behind two small children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Women in Exile &#038; Friends is among the\nfamily, friends and other organisations demanding to know: why did it took the\npolice so long to find Rita`s remains? Who murdered her? How safe are the camps\nfor women and children if reported sexual harassment has no consequences? Why\nhas the camp in the wood near by Hohenleipisch not been closed, although the\nresidents wrote an open letter to the authorities demanding it`s closure?! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our fight for \u201eJustice for Rita\u201c and \u201eNo Lager for women and children\u201c, \u201e Abolish all Lagers!\u201c continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dear Sister Rita: rest in power, rest in peace<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/women-in-exile.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/R.I.P.-Rita-1-735x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5989\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die sterblichen \u00dcberreste unserer Schwester Rita Awour Ojunge wurden endlich der Familie zur Beerdigung \u00fcbergeben. Am 14. Dezember 2019 wurde sie zur Ruhe gelegt. Rita hatte wiederholt sexuelle Bel\u00e4stigung gemeldet im Fl\u00fcchtlingslager Hohenleipisch, in dem sie lebte. Aber es wurden keine Schritte gegen die Gewalt unternommen. Am 7. April 2019 wurde sie als vermisst gemeldet.
