On August 1, 2014, the Constitutional Court nullified the anti-homosexuality law, because it was passed without quorum.
Homosexuality is still criminal under the Ugandan National Constitution (UNC) and the Penal Code Act (PCA). The annulled law is providing for life imprisonment for “aggravated homosexuality” and banns the “promotion of homosexuality”. Am 1.08.2014 annulierte das ugandische Verfassungsgericht das Anti-Homosexuellen-Gesetz, da das erforderliche Quorum nicht erreicht worden war.
 
Homosexualität wird gemäß der Verfassung Ugandas und dem Strafgesetz nach wie vor kriminalisiert. Das vorerst annullierte Gesetz sieht lebenslange Haft für „schwere Fälle“ von Homosexualität vor und verbietet die „Propagierung“ dieser.
